New map editor and patch announced

Paradox Interactive has announced new content for the heralded fantasy strategy title, Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim. Subjects of the royal lands of Ardania can look forward to an expanded adventure with an upcoming patch, and for the first time, a free map editor that enables the loyal subjects of the Majesty 2 community to create their own missions and battles for themselves.

Upcoming Patch

A third patch is in the works which will include fixes and updates, as well as a much requested randomization feature. With the patch, it will be possible to assign randomization to the original campaign maps. Randomization will be added to items in treasure chests, non-quest monster dens, the special zones for trading posts and temples.

Brand New Map Editor

As a reward to those looking to further control the magic with their own hands, Paradox and 1C: Ino-Co plan to open up the game and provide endless replayability with the release of an official Majesty 2 map editor. This mission creator toolset will enable savvy players to take full advantage of the soon-to-be incorporated additions and create their own custom adventures to truly shape their own destinies.

Lester Humphreys, President Cyberlore Studios, Creators of Majesty 1 on Majesty 2:

"I have really been enjoying playing Majesty 2… It really captures the fun of the first game, with modern graphics and some nice additions. Here are some of my early notes:

Likes:
1) Love the 3d graphics.
2) Being able to zoom in and out and rotate is very cool.
3) Hall of lords very cool.
4) I was skeptical about the new flags, but I like them. They add more possibilities to game play.
5) Nice interface.
6) The mission summary screen that checks off accomplishments is very nice.
7) The music works well, without getting too repetitive.
8) The game is coming along very nicely!

Dislikes
1) I really miss being able to continue a game after the mission is accomplished. Can this be added after you pick which hero you want to make a lord?
2) Some people are sensitive to killing wild animals like wolves and bears, especially when heroes, that the player does not control, do the killing. For this reason we did not have regular wolves and bears we had Varg’s and Hell Bears.
3) It would be nice to be able to click the mouse to skip the opening animations.
